Practice Philosophy: Our body is fundamentally able to heal itself given the proper environment. In a doctor-patient relationship, my role is to facilitate this process by identifying the cause of a disorder, establishing a path of functionality, and restoring the body to its optimal levels of physiology. The basic tools include a diet tailored to each individual as well as a realistic exercise program. Operating within this framework, each patient has access to the successful outcome of achieving health and wellness.

I believe that the body has the inherent capacity to make itself well. Our mission as the physician-patient team is to support and nourish this process. Treatment of the cause, enhancement of function, and restoration of optimal physiology in concert tends to produce the best results. Proper diet and exercise are essential components to achieve optimal health and wellness.

Areas of Focus: Diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary and occupational lung diseases; customizing diet and nutritional programs, including weight-loss supervision and exercise counseling; facilitating path for receiving optimal medical care utilizing a combination of traditional and non-traditional approaches.

General Comments: I have practiced traditional pulmonary medicine in the greater Hartford area since 1983 and apply traditional approaches and pharmaceutical remedies to treat many illnesses. However, I recognize that many illnesses and chronic conditions cannot be managed successfully through medications alone. I believe there are many explanations to why the body functions poorly and answers are not always revealed through conventional tests.

A proper diet and regular exercise form the basis for optimal health. When illness occurs, that indicates an imbalance of function and we must search for explanations. Traditional medicine does not provide all the answers, and I strive to locate the best ways to achieve optimal health from all medical disciplines.

America is facing a health care crisis with alarming increases in the numbers of people suffering from obesity, diabetes, deconditioning, chronic inflammatory and debilitating diseases such as arthritis, inflammatory bowel diseases, chronic fatigue, life stress and depression, and circulatory disturbances such as coronary artery diseases. I believe that the path to the best treatment available will be through the integration of knowledge from all disciplines of health care professionals. New England Integrative Health Associates (NEIHA) is founded as a Center of Excellence, where all professional healthcare providers will work together to find the best solutions for its valued patients.
